A new feature began rolling out for Facebook live that allows the broadcaster to invite guests to participate on video. Check out Caity’s initial test of this feature here:
You can invite one person at a time to join the broadcast, and you can have as many guests as youโd like over the course of the video.
It is currently only available to iOS Facebook users. For a guest to be invited, they have to be watching the Facebook Live (while itโs still live) to be invited.
Hereโs how it works:
1. Once you begin your Facebook Live, youโll be able swipe left and view who your live viewers are by scrolling left on your screen.
2. Select which viewer youโd like to invite by tapping their avatar that appears on the screen.
3. Tap โInvite to Go Live.โ
4. Once they accept your invitation, your guestโs video will show up on your screen and the screens of your viewers in the upper right hand corner.
If you would like to invite someone new onto your broadcast, hereโs how to remove the first guest:
1.Tap their window in the upper right hand corner.
2. Tap x.
3. Repeat the instructions above to invite the next person.
Once the broadcast is over, Facebook will automatically tag the people you invited to your broadcast for you, which is epic! This is going to revolutionize the way we collaborate with one another and itโs just another way that Facebook is cultivating conversations between its users.
