How to Post up to 10 Photos at Once on Instagram ✋✋

Today, Instagram announced a feature that allows for a carousel of up to ten photos and videos to occupy the same post.

Like its previous implementation of this feature with Sponsored posts, folks will be able to swipe through multiple images or videos without leaving the same post. At release time, this support square images and videos with no announced plans to support landscape- and portrait-oriented media.

To access this, head to where you’d make a post, then make sure you have the Library tab open. You’ll see a carousel 16685725_1398289206894506_6733086020801134592_n icon near where the Layout icon currently sits at the bottom right corner of the photo.

Choose up to ten photos and videos, then choose next to adjust and edit them as you would normally. Once you’ve posted, you’ll notice indicators on the post in your profile and in your home feed that more than one image or video is included.

This feature is rolling out to accounts across the world, so you may see posts in your feed that include this before the feature reaches yours.

😎 If You Know What Snap Spectacles, Are… Well, Now You Can Buy Them

spectacles1

Snap Inc. announced today that Spectacles, its wearable camera for Snapchat, would be available for purchase on its website.

This sprightly device was previously only accessible in strategically-placed, actually kind of adorable, temporary “Snapbot” vending machines, Spectacles are currently available in three different colors to customers in the United States for $129.99.

The Spectacles brand was announced in late 2016 as a hardware extension to the (then newly-minted parent company Snap Inc.’s) Snapchat app. Its job is to wirelessly capture 10-second snaps to be sent directly to your phone’s Snapchat Memories feature, which can then be shared to your Story and your friends.

Interestingly, these snaps will have a circular aspect ratio, allowing the footage to be viewed from a phone in both portrait and landscape orientations.

Would you buy an external camera for Snapchat?

PS: Don’t let my hipster post title give off the wrong impression — I totally know what these are, and I totally ordered a pair just prior to writing this article. I’ll be posting some updates on my Snapchat as soon as I get them!

😱 A New Batch of Emojis Was Just Released

via Emojipedia

Earlier today, Apple released software update 10.2 to the public, which includes the long-awaited Unicode 9.0 emoji release. Including a large array of skin tones and new professions, Apple now supports a whopping 422 emojis (depending on how you count them).

If you’ve been looking for ways to express your sneezes, shrugs, and facepalms, or your favorite foods like bacon and avocado (and a drooling face at the prospect of bacon and avocado together), now you can with this latest software update!

Friendiversary

Your next best customer, best friend, or best adventure could begin with a simple comment.

Today I am celebrating my one year friendiversary with Dan & Caity.

They are gigantic dorks — which is probably why I love them so much.

Our adventure began with this video intro:

https://johnerik.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/HulkClipnoend.mp4

That then led to this tweet:

"How would the Hulk take a selfie though?" – @johnerikthinks #instavengers

— Dan Schenker (@heydanschenker) January 20, 2015

That ultimately led to me crashing their wedding:

The power of social media is in listening, not broadcasting.

If Dan never sent that tweet and I never responded, a friendship would have never been born.

Don’t take my word for it, here is Dan’s Perspective & then Caity’s Perspective.

Authentic relationships can be birthed online (in fact 1/3 of all marriages now originate online).

Focus more on starting a conversation than selling your commodity. You never know where that next adventure will take you and more importantly who you get to share it with.
